The congregation and Session congratulate Oliver Harrison, son of Tiffany Benitone Harrison, on being awarded his Eagle Scout badge in an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony last Sunday, January 8th at First Methodist Church. Oliver is a member of this congregation, along with his mother Tiffany, sister Carolyn, and brother Sam. Oliver is a senior this year at Senitobia High School and is currently applying to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado for admission in fall, 2012. Oliver's Eagle Scout project was to plan and carry out the rebuilding of the wooden fence on the east side of our church property. Oliver did this work over several months with the help of his brother scout's, Jim Whitten, troup leader, and Spencer VanDyke, his scout mentor. Joe Spahn and David Hale advised and worked with Oliver on the construction. Jo Ellen Logan and Susanne VanDyke played music for the Court of Honor ceremony.
